VALQC

Your report, examined by another CBV before it leaves your office.

Since the CICBV standards update in early 2026, a documented quality control process is an obligation in mandates performed by CBV/EEE professionals. VALQC produces that record, and never touches your authorship.

On readingfixed before work

Prices exclude GST and QST. The scope and the fee are confirmed in the engagement letter before any work starts.

We review. We never prepare.

VALQC does not write valuation reports, does not co-sign them, and does not compete for the mandates it reviews. That is what makes the examination independent, and it is why the report stays entirely yours: you keep full authorship and responsibility, and you decide how to address every comment.

Every review is performed by a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) / Expert en évaluation d'entreprises (EEE), under professional confidentiality. Nothing is disclosed to your client, or to anyone else.

What the reviewer examines

Five headings, on every file, whatever it cost.

I

Valuation methodology

Whether the approach chosen fits the mandate, the entity and the standard of value, and whether the file supports that choice.

II

Arithmetic of the schedules

Every schedule recalculated, every carry-forward traced, every total agreed to its source.

III

Support for key assumptions

Whether the rates, multiples and normalizations are reasonable, and whether the support for them is in the file.

IV

Narrative against figures

Whether the report says what the schedules show, including the places a reader will check first.

V

Presentation of the report

Whether it reads as the work of a practitioner who expects to be read closely, by a client or by opposing counsel.

How a file moves

Seven stations, in order, each one visible to you while it is happening.

1

Intake

The report and its supporting documents are submitted through the platform.

2

Engagement letter

Scope and fee confirmed in writing, signed electronically, before any work begins.

3

Deposit

Half the quoted fee, by card or bank transfer.

4

A certified reviewer works through the five headings above.

5

Preliminary findings

Before conclusions are fixed

6

Review meeting

7

The record

The written quality control report, dated and attributable, for your file and your obligation.

Statement of the founder

Valuation professionals rarely have a second qualified reader in the building. Reports go out with one set of eyes on them, and the profession deserves better than that.

We built VALQC so that an independent examination is a matter of opening a file rather than calling in a favour. Rigour, independence and confidentiality are the whole of the offer; there is nothing else to sell.

Questions put to us

What does VALQC do?
VALQC provides independent quality control (QC) reviews of business valuation reports. Before you deliver a Calculation or Estimate valuation report to your client, our certified CBV/EEE reviewers verify the methodology, calculations, assumptions, and overall presentation, so your report goes out with confidence.
Who is VALQC for?
VALQC is built for valuation professionals: CBVs/EEEs, accounting firms, boutique valuation practices, and sole practitioners who want an independent second set of expert eyes on their reports before delivery, or who need QC support to meet internal review requirements.
How does the process work?
Create an account, submit your file through our secure platform, sign the mandate letter, and pay the deposit. A certified reviewer analyzes your report, prepares detailed QC comments, and meets with you if needed. You receive a structured review that you can act on before delivering your report.
How long does a review take?
Most Calculation and Estimate report reviews are completed within a few business days once we have your complete file. Complex or litigation files are scoped individually with a timeline confirmed up front.
How is pricing determined?
Quality control reviews start at $400 for Calculation valuation reports and $600 for Estimate valuation reports, plus applicable taxes. Complex corporate structures and litigation support files are quoted individually based on scope.
What do I need to submit?
Your draft valuation report and the key supporting materials: financial statements, valuation schedules/models, and any relevant assumptions documentation. Our platform guides you through exactly what's required at each step.
Is my file confidential and secure?
Yes. Your file is covered by the professional confidentiality a CBV/EEE works under, and it is held on the platform rather than passed around by email. It is read by your reviewer and by no one else: nothing is disclosed to your client, to the other side, or to any third party.
Is support available?
Yes, via live chat in the platform or by email at info@valqc.com. Our team is ready to help you at every step of the review process.
