Everything above, across the wider scope an Estimate report carries: the additional procedures, the valuation approach itself, and the conclusions drawn from it.

Litigation and complex files

Holding structures, intercompany balances, damage quantification, and files headed for court. We read the report first, then quote the scope and the timeline in writing.

How a review is quoted

Every quote starts from the report in front of us. A Calculation report on a single operating company is quick to verify; an Estimate report on a group with intercompany balances, redundant assets and a normalized earnings history takes considerably longer. We read the report before quoting, so the figure you receive is the figure you pay.

Four things move a quote: the valuation approach used, the number of entities involved, whether the file is destined for litigation, and how complete the supporting documentation is. A report delivered with its working papers is faster to review than one that arrives on its own.

Questions about cost

What does a quality control review cost?
Reviews start at $400 for a Calculation report and $600 for an Estimate report, before Quebec sales taxes. Complex corporate structures and litigation files are quoted individually once we have seen the report.
When do I pay?
Half the quoted fee is due as a deposit once you approve the engagement letter, and the balance is due when the final report is released. Both are invoiced through the platform, by card or bank transfer.
Are taxes included in the quoted price?
No. Prices are shown before taxes. GST at 5% and QST at 9.975% are added to every invoice, and both appear separately on the invoice you receive.
Is the quote fixed?
Yes. The scope and the fee are confirmed before any work starts, in the engagement letter you sign. If the scope changes during the review, we tell you before doing the work, not after.
What is included in every review?
Verification of the methodology, the assumptions and the arithmetic, a written report setting out what we found, and a meeting with the reviewer to go through the findings before the report is final.
